Lost Ark has raised the maximum level again shortly before its release in the West. We at NintendoSmash reveal what the level is, what the so-called soft cap is all about, and the best way to level up.
What is the max level in Lost Ark? Currently, you can level your characters up to 60. This means that the western version is at the same level as the Korean version.
How long does it take to reach level 60? A few weeks to months. However, the developers have introduced a so-called soft cap at level 50. Because from level 50 you can already farm the end-game equipment and visit all dungeons and raids, provided your gear score meets the criteria.
The path to level 50 is even relatively short. With a few tricks, you can even reach it in under 12 hours.
Do you have to reach level 50 for everything? No. For many activities it is not even necessary to reach level 50:
- You can enter Arena PvP at level 27. As the equipment does not play a role there, you also have no disadvantages compared to the hardcore players.
- Housing, your own island, is unlocked at around level 26. You can also spend some time there without having reached the soft cap.
Skill points take a huge leap from level 50
What happens after level 50? If you have played to level 50, you can already experience all the relevant content in the game. However, the skill points required now increase rapidly.
To jump from level 49 to 50, you need about 1 million skill points. To jump from level 50 to 51, you need 47 million. So it will take much more time and effort to reach further levels.
What’s the point of leveling up? With each level-up, you get additional skill points that you can invest in your skills. So there are playful advantages, but most of the builds from the community are designed in such a way that they are playable even at level 50.
What is the difference between character level and account level?
Lost Ark offers two different types of levels:
- The character level is simply the level that your selected character currently has.
- The account level – also known as squad-level – slowly increases as you level up all your characters. Account-level unlocks bonuses, including additional stats for each character on your account.
